Goodies

Welcome to the Goodies section! Throughout some 20+-years of being a hobbyist, I’ve always wanted to offer some form of digital goodies for fellow hobbyists, such as graphics and such. But at that time, I didn’t have adequate skills to create handmade digital goodies, such as pixel art, fonts, patterns, etc. Well, that, as well as me being lazy or unmotivated to open one. But deep within, I always wanted to give back something to the hobbyist community.

On the right side is the UPDATES box, where I list the new stuff I upload and ready to be downloaded for free. Before you download and use them, be sure to read the Creative Commons license. Thank you!

SHARPAY MARK

This is my first handcrafted font, now available for free download. I’ve tried and tested a bunch of specimens originally for this site, as well as other projects, but I prefer something else.

I created Sharpay Mark, which is meant to be used as a heading font. I recently discovered Calligraphr and introduced me to an easier way to create custom, handmade fonts. And then, I also discovered that Fontself has an iPad version, and went ahead and purchased that. I have come across Fontself before, and purchased the extension several years ago when it first came out. However, with the lack of time and the lack of peripherals that would help me create fonts easier, I basically abandoned it. With the iPad version, it became a lot easier for me, and very portable as well.

Sharpay Mark was created using Fontself. The specimen contains characters commonly found on an English/Western keyboard. It does not contain special characters

BrushSpots

My second handmade font, specifically for headers and (possibly) logos. These are not made to be used as default text fonts.

I created this font using the Fontself for iPad app. Because of the lack of designing purposes, I would have to use Procreate or any illustration software I could use, then use Calligraphr to convert them into typefaces. With Fontself, I had to play around with their brush settings, so that I could emulate some sample specimens into something fresh and creative. All I did was “dotted” one or two sides of a character manually. No special effects included. Thus, I gave the font’s name BrushSpots.

This specimen contains characters commonly found on an English/Western keyboard. It does not contain any special characters.

Patterns

Free pattern backgrounds for your website,1 wallpaper, or any digital project. Some of them you can print out for gift wraps and other goodies. Please be sure to link and credit me when you use them. The Creative Commons license mentioned above also applies to these patterns, too.

I understand that there are free pattern background sites like Subtle Patterns and even pattern generator sites. But at the same time, wouldn’t it be cool to have a particular pattern design that no one else has? Original pattern designs not found anywhere else (I hope?) is what I offer right here!

INSTRUCTIONS: Click on the captions of the patterns below and download the patterns directly. DO NOT DIRECT LINK!!!

I’m still learning how to create different patterns, so please be patient, as they are not perfect. That’s why they’re free, but all of them are tried, tested, and true to the tightest pixel specifications by yours truly before uploading them here. Feel free to reach me out if you have any questions or suggestions.

Please enjoy them as I had fun making them too!

  1. They’re over 1MB, which is not ideal for a website pattern background, so please don’t use them as web backgrounds for the time being.[]
