Site Updates
I opened an updates page to keep track of the site’s new content and features. In the professional world of web development, we typically don’t have an update log accessible to the public, unless our site hosts official documentation, downloadable scripts, or apps. Because this is a personal website and I have a habit of documenting my changes for my own record, and for the curious, to check out the site’s activities.
This doesn’t include the technical and/or backend system updates, such as new/updated versions of the CMS software, other server upgrades, etc.
(Heavily) Redid the About Page
Because I created a separate Site Update page, I decided to redo the entire About page and combine the Site section to this page. The submenus under “About” should now appear slightly different. It’s past midnight now, but I plan on revamping the rest of the sections too, except the Blog archive pages.
Created A Separate Site Update Page
I’m learning a great deal about designing WP layouts and pages using Gutenberg Blocks. I like making timelines, so I decided to use this block for site updates right here!
Made a *major* Oopsie!
During my web host cleanup, I accidentally deleted this site/blog. I panicked, but with an excellent tech support and a little new feature called JetBackup, I was able to restore the entire site at nighttime on the same day.
This is why I have been with this same web host for almost 10 years! Thank you!
Custom Placeholder Images
I created placeholder images, both with original artwork and royalty-free image edits, based on certain blog categories.
ADDED GALLERY
Until I build and launch a separate art portfolio and gallery site, I will be housing some of my artwork here.
