Hi! I’m back… maybe

This is already common knowledge. So many things to do, so little time. And it shows here because I haven’t been blogging for over two months. Yikes!

I made another default featured image in case I end up blogging hodgepodge topics after being inactive for a long period. It’s the featured image I’m using on this post right now called Let’s CATCH UP! Basically, these types of posts are quick (life?) updates that took my time away from the internet and even from the computer altogether. I hope that making posts such as these would help me get back to being active on my blog and other website projects I’m currently working on.

From February to March

  • OMG… lots of good video games! I admit it. I got so attached to my Nintendo Switch that I’ve been buying a lot of good games left and right. So many games I’ve purchased, so many games that I haven’t started playing yet. Because of this, it kept me away from the internet and from my Macbook. Eep!

  • Work got busy. But at the same time, some changes within my position have given me opportunities to learn something new, as well as opportunities for me to use my newly-acquired skills and currently existing skills to work on my new tasks.

  • Online learning will always be ongoing… It may be a bad habit of jumping in different fields and then think of getting into these new fields as part of my career-changing goals. The problem is, I end up going back to web development and, partially, Data Analytics. I’m still against generative AI when it comes to digital art and graphics, but I’m also getting interested in learning AI that doesn’t involve aesthetics and visuals.

  • This year’s Lent Season began in March… I’m following through the traditional fasting and abstinence from meat. 1 I also decided to give up playing video games in order to focus on other things. I hoped I would work more towards my website projects and online learning, but instead, I caught up with my long-abandoned (cozy) novel reading. Well, well…

  • You know how I started a bullet journal from last January? I fell through because I ran out of ideas and just lost motivation. I still want to write about bullet journaling in general though. Maybe I should really start from the most basics again.

  • What’s happening with my hydroponic garden? Unfortunately, four out of the ten pods in my hydroponic garden machine did not sprout at all. But, the rest have grown healthy, both spearmint and peppermint. I have been harvesting quite a lot when the plants have grown tall and filled with so many leaves. Next time, I’ll take photos when I start logging about my garden again with new crops, maybe.

Starting today is Holy Week

I gave up playing video games for the entire Lent season. However, I did shop for new video games again. I purchased three games for my Switch and one new game for my Steam Deck. One game that I’ve been looking forward to play, inZOI, unfortunately, is a lot harder to play on the Steam Deck. Therefore, I booted up my Parallels, updated everything including the Windows 11 virtual machine, and my Steam. Right now, I’m downloading inZOI here, so I can play this weekend.

I have a confession to make. It’s becoming difficult to attend church and catch up with the prayers. But I found Hallow and it reminded so much of the Calm meditation app. The only difference is that it’s specifically for Catholics.2 It’s really helped me keep up with my prayers, especially during Lent. I’m very grateful to this app that I purchased a subscription.

Today, April 14th, is the 5th anniversary of my late father’s death. Mom and I visited Dad and found my sister being there. We placed one fresh rose on the marker, freshly picked from our front garden. We made a short convo with Dad about the kids, how we’ve been doing, and that we’ll keep on praying for his soul and for the family together. Then Mom said (jokingly) that eventually, the rose will be gone. The resident deer will be making a trip down the cemetery from the hills and snack on the bouquets left there.

With some of the things going on in the interwebs lately, I decided to revive two of my past website projects. Chika Wota Blog will be worked on first. With the re-emergence of J-Pop in the global scene, I couldn’t help but to join in the hype (once more) and bring my underground J-Pop fandom days into a whole new level. Chika Wota 3 will still have focus on underground J-Pop groups, but I also feel that those coming from major companies and agencies also need some coverage too. This time, I won’t be alone in running the relaunch of the blog. Super excited!

Conclusion

I’ll be writing a lot more, hopefully. But I’m going to end it here for now.

Till next time!

  1. I was today years old when I learned that I’m actually except from abstaining from meat or anything food-related because I’m diabetic…[]
  2. I think other Christians can use this app too, but then…[]
  3. Underground Fan[]
